But then, the Hyksos (kingdom of ancient Syria) attack Egypt. Lostris becomes queen and in time, pregnant. On the counsel of one of his trusted aide, he agrees to marry Lostris in the hope that he may beget a son. He longs for an heir to succeed his kingdom. Pharaoh Mamose, the king of Egypt is an un-happy man. The story occurs in 1780 BC during one of the critical turning points of Egyptian history. The chief archaeologist approached Wilbur Smith to convert these scrolls into a novel so that this incredible story can reach a wider audience. In it was an extra-ordinary story, almost un-believable. ![]() They contained numerous papyrus scrolls (used by Egyptians as paper). When she pressed it, the wall opened and 10 jars were found. ![]() After 3 weeks of search, one of the archaeologists spotted a small button carefully hidden in one of the walls. The archaeologists were stunned by the murals on the tomb walls, but could not decipher who the queen or what her story was. On 5th January 1988, a rare Egyptian tomb was discovered. ![]()
